  • Assist low to moderate-income working families with free tax preparations in the Kansas City metro area. Open positions include: tax preparers, greeters, information assistants, Spanish speaking interpreters, site administrators, or administrative assistants. Volunteers must be at least 18 and be able to make a four month commitment beginning in January. Training provided. Flexible hours & locations (metrowide).
  • Provide office assistance for an agency serving seniors in Gladstone, MO. Duties include answering phones, making quality assurance calls and performing general office tasks. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, have basic computer and office skills and enjoy working with seniors. Flexible weekday hours.
  • Do you love animals? Provide assistance at an animal shelter in Kansas City, MO. Various opportunities available, including being a groomer, receptionist, cat/dog socializer, WAGS trainer, adoption counter assistant, or serve on the public relations/marketing committee. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old, and youth under 16 must serve their first 25 hours accompanied by a parent. Orientation and training provided. Flexible schedules.
  • Do you enjoy playing a musical instrument? Tutor Haitian youth in Kansas City, Mo. Instruments played by youth include trumpet, saxophone, saxophone tenor, trombone, flute, violin, guitar, bass guitar, drums, tuba, clarinet and french horn. Volunteers must be at least 17 years old and be able to make a 12-week commitment. Flexible weekend or evening shifts.
  • Become a care kit assembler for an agency in Jackson County, MO. Volunteers will fill some of the basic necessities of those in need by making shoebox care kits for men, women and children. This is great opportunity for families and groups to share time together through giving. Flexible hours.
  • Serve as a girls program volunteer for an organization in Kansas City, Ks. Duties include working with adolescent girls in a group setting providing mentoring, assisting staff during activities, guest speaking and assisting on field trips. Flexible hours.
  • Donate a few hours each week to attend health fairs in the community and provide basic information about diabetes to attendees. No medical experience needed. Training and materials are provided.
