Celebration Still To Come
Wrestling coach John Smith said he wasn't ready to celebrate until it was official, but it appears the Cowboys have secured the team's fourth consecutive national wrestling championship. After the semifinals Friday night, March 17, in team standings the Pokes had 106 points.
Rounding out the top five after the semifinals were Minnesota, 72.5; OU, 64.5; Iowa, 61.5; and Arizona State, 56.
Jake Rosholt, Johny Hendricks and Steve Mocco won semifinal matches and on Saturday will defend their national titles from a year ago. Their semifinal wins helped push Oklahoma State to its 33.5-point lead entering the finals.
